Linda's Walk Crew

Thank you for helping us, Linda's Walk Crew, reach our Walk to Defeat ALS fundraising goal! Linda Martin's experience with ALS began a few months before her formal diagnosis in November 2022, and she continues to persevere with the illness each day. Linda has been many things throughout her nearly 70 years - daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, teacher, deacon, volunteer - all of which she put the needs of others before her own. She sought to build a better and brighter future for all whom she came in contact with, through compassion, positivity and understanding. She has made a notable impact on countless lives through her years and was naturally drawn to do so. Now, its our turn to further propagate her desire to positively impact those in our community. We walk to build a brighter future, a future where ALS can no longer alter one's path in life.

Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS.

Our team is committed to raising money to support people in our community with ALS and spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure. The Central & Southern Ohio Chapter has been an invaluable resource for our family in our education and care for Linda. We are grateful for their network of support, and now we are asking our network to return the favor! Please consider joining our team in the Walk to Defeat ALS® or choose a team member from the list and donate to our cause.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

That’s why we’re participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS. To bring hope. To raise awareness. To provide resources and services to families free of charge. To help unlock the mystery of ALS and find the key to treatments a cure. Will you join us?

ABOUT ALS

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
