Cincinnati Walk ALS

JimmyB

As many of you know, or perhaps this is news, I was diagnosed with ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) over two years ago. This disease currently has NO TREATMENT OR CURE. My ALS is progressing somewhat slowly, affecting my left hand and arm the first year, my legs last year and my right hand and arm this year.   In case you missed it I was honored to throw out the first pitch at the Reds MLB Lou Gehrig game this year, and while it took me a while to get to the mound I at least threw the ball straight.

Along with my team, I am once again raising funds in the Walk to Defeat ALS for our local chapter @ALS Association of Central & Southern Ohio who are helping me and my family as we go day by day. I would be very grateful for any amount that you could donate to help me reach my fundraising goal and I would be honored should anyone choose to walk as a member of my team and raise funds as well.

ABOUT ALS

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
