Jim's Scott's Mascots!
For Jim Scott....
Sometimes you are lucky enough in life to come across a genuinely kind person. The kind of person who selflessly goes out of one's way to lift others up. For me, that person is Jim Scott. I started working with Jim when I started helping out with the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade a handful of years ago. I have never seen someone so committed to listening, to learning about others, and to remembering the smallest of details about every person he comes across.
A little bit after my dad passed away, I called Jim up. I told him what happened and told him how much hearing his voice meant to me. Growing up, our dad took us to school. And every drive in, 700 WLW was on the radio with Jim Scott's voice becoming the background of our morning routine. He takes me back to those days with my dad in a special way that I will treasure every time we talk.
Jim's the type of guy who you walk away from asking yourself how you could be a little kinder like him. Well, through his recent announcement, he finally has an ask. And that ask is to support the ALS Association in whatever way you can. I am so sad for Jim's struggles, but I am also happy to have the chance to give something small back to the guy who has become one of my favorite people on earth. The Lanser crew is happy to walk as part of Jim Scott's Mascots. Join us on Sunday 9/17 or if you are able to, please consider a donation to any of the Lansers.
Thank you!
