This is the 7th year I've participated in the Walk for ALS.

Seven years and there's very little progress in combatting this heinous, hateful disease.

I walk every year in memory of my beloved late brother in law, Jim Hunt. Never did he complain about being afflicted with ALS; he tried to do as much as he could do for himself until his body just refused to listen. He was beautifully cared for by my dear sister, his wife, Bonnie. Together they were "Team Hunt" and got through the most trying of times. She took such wonderful care of Jim until his final minutes at home.

If you are a donor who  has given to my efforts in the past, God bless you. I know there are so many places where you could chose to support their mission. If you are a new donor, many thanks for your support. Last year, I was honored to be recognized as the highest individual fundraiser at the Dayton, OH walk. I could never have done so without you and your generosity.

This disease is not only contastrophic for the patient but also for the family. It not only robs a family of their lives together but it also bankrupts them and also can cause physical and emotionall harm...Who is going to pick up your ALS loved one when they have fallen to the floor as dead weight? Who is going to work two jobs to pay for the expensive equipment, home health care, drugs and that must-have van to transport him or her to the many appointments?  It's a disease that can not only take away your beloved but ruin your family's remaining future.

So that is why we HATE ALS...knowing that the ife expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure. Jim was diagnosed in 2019 and passed away in the summer of 2020.

This is why I continue to fundraise for ALS; to give hope to future victims and their families. But we can't stop now. The key to a cure begins with you.

I ask that you will consider sponsoring me with whatever size gift you may give... With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease.

Thank you so very much.
