For the 19th year, we are walking to defeat ALS! To all of you who have supported ALS research and those living with ALS in the past, THANK YOU!

 

Familial ALS & FTD (the C9orf72 genetic mutation) has taken 7 from our Moore family: Aunt Betty, Uncle Jim, Aunt Lora Jean, Aunt Carole, my mom Karen, cousin Vonnetta, and cousin Steve.

 

 

My grandparents have 112 living direct descendants who carry a risk for developing ALS and/or FTD. ALS & FTD will strike our family again, so we'll keep walking and fundraising until there are more treatments and a cure.

 

This past year, your gifts have allowed our ALS United Ohio chapter to provide services to 587 people with ALS, in the form of 373 pieces of equipment/devices, 163 home and office visits for those with ALS, 903 people to attend ALS support groups, 111 smart home items gifted to those with ALS, 430 adaptability items gifted to people with ALS, over $200K in grants given to 203 people living with ALS, and 482 patient visits at ALS clinics in Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati.
