In 2016, Betty’s world changed. She was diagnosed with ALS—a disease that slowly robs you of the ability to move, to speak, to breathe. It began with her core, making it hard for her to stand. Soon, it took away her arm and leg strength, and eventually...her independence.
But even as ALS took so much from her, Betty never stopped living. She traveled, went boating, skied, hiked—continuing to make memories with her loved ones. She embraced every day to the fullest, bringing joy and laughter to all those around her.
Even as her body weakened, Betty’s spirit was stronger than ever. She became a fierce advocate, using her experience to raise awareness and funds for ALS research. The Cincinnati ALS Walk was her passion—an event she held close to her heart. Through this walk, Betty helped raise over $20,000 to support families like hers, and to fuel the research needed to find a cure.
Betty’s legacy is one of hope, resilience, and unwavering love for her community. This year, we continue her mission—because ALS has no cure, and the fight is far from over.
Join us on Sunday, September 28th at Winton Woods for the Cincinnati ALS Walk. Walk with us, raise your voice, and carry Betty’s legacy forward. Can’t join in person? You can still support Team Betty with a donation through the link. Together, we can continue to fight for a future without ALS.
