Hey All,  My lab is participating in a fundraiser for ALS. We have a goal to raise $1500 as a team. Anything you could give would be helpful. Walk ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.  As some of you know I have been working to understand ALS for the last 10 years.  The lab I work in is currently working to identify a biomarker for ALS.

 

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.  Currently, Ohio and Michigan are the areas with the most cases.
