Welcome to My Personal Page
Our friend, Jim Bowman, needs your support. Jim has been living with ALS – also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease -- for several years.
The disease continues to damage his body, limiting his mobility and other vital functions. But that hasn’t stopped Jim. For the third year, he’s organized a team for the annual ALS Walk for Greater Cincinnati.
Dani, Lynda and I will be participating in the event again. I know there are many great causes that ask for your support. So I ask that you make any investment you can in the fight against ALS. The size of your gift doesn’t matter. What matters is that you consider making a gift. Why? Because just seeing that people care means so much to Jim, his family and other people with ALS.
Two years ago, Jim walked the course with the aid of walking sticks, surrounded by dozens of relatives and friends. This year, he’ll be relying on a wheelchair. He can no longer feed himself and had a feeding tube inserted to supplement his meals. He’s been losing his voice and anticipates it going away. So he’s been using a computer controlled by eye gazes that speaks for him.
Jim doesn’t complain. “Just because life isn’t fair doesn’t mean it can’t be good,” he likes to say. This summer, he and his extended family took a trip to Nashville and everyone pitched in to help care for Jim.
There is no cure for ALS. Please help us fund research and treatments.
