Walk with Meeeeeeeee!
Approaching our 21st ALS Walk with our Million Dollar Team, Kids4Cure, I try to find words to answer “What keeps you fighting?” So so much!
What’s most heavy on my heart right now:
CHILDREN, like Kennedy: diagnosed at 7. TWINS, like Alex & Jaci: diagnosed at 11 & 25, died at 17 & 26. FAMILIES, like Deb: has ALS & lost 38 in family to ALS. VETERANS, like Tony, Juan, Kate, Shelly & ….HUSBANDS, WIVES, MOMS, DADS, TODDLERS, BABIES who have all lost their person way too early.
ALS doesn’t discriminate. It just doesn’t. It doesn’t matter what political camp you’re in, where you came from, how much money you make. 90% of ALS cases are completely random and all are 100% fatal. ALS continues to take & take, not only my dear friends, but abilities & futures from friends I love. Although I continue to progress slowly, I continue to progress.
Daily, I recommit to focus on what abilities I have, on the mental strength that ALS cannot take & most importantly the loving community that includes YOU. Thank you for always showing up for me & my tribe!
We are building our 2024 Kids4Cure team and I’d love for you to be a part. Our annual Kids4Cure Walk team benefits ALS United Ohio that provides local support to patients and families including research, equipment, support groups, and patient grant programs. The Walk is 1.7 miles. A beautiful walk around Winton Woods Lake where walkers, strollers, pets are welcome! If it’s on your heart to jump in, sign up here!
